Return and Refund Policy

At Rare Antiques, we take pride in offering authentic and carefully curated antiques, artworks, and vintage collectibles. Each piece we sell is unique, and we strive to describe and photograph every item as accurately as possible. Due to the nature of our business, all sales are final, and we do not generally accept returns or offer refunds. However, we recognize that exceptional situations may occur and have outlined our policy below.
1. All Sales Are Final
All items sold by Rare Antiques are sold “as is.”
Because of the antique and collectible nature of our inventory:
- We do not offer cash refunds or exchanges for change of mind, size, color, or perceived imperfections.
- Variations, minor wear, or age-related marks are considered part of the character and authenticity of antique items.
2. Store Credits (Case-by-Case Basis)
In rare and exceptional circumstances, store credit may be issued at our discretion if:
- The item you received is significantly different from its online description, or
- There is a major undisclosed defect that affects usability or authenticity.
Requests for store credit must be made within 5 business days of receiving your order.
Please contact us at store@rareantiques.ca with:
- Your order number,
- A clear description of the issue, and
- Photographs of the item and packaging.
Each request will be reviewed individually. If approved for a return, the buyer is responsible for shipping it back to Rare Antiques. On receiving the item, approved credits will be issued in the form of a digital store credit code that can be applied toward future purchases.
3. Damaged or Lost Items During Shipping
While we take extreme care in packaging and use trusted carriers, we cannot guarantee protection against all transit risks:
- Rare Antiques is not liable for damage, delay, or loss occurring during shipping.
- If your item was insured, we will assist you in filing a claim with the carrier for reimbursement.
We strongly recommend selecting a tracked and insured shipping option during checkout for added peace of mind.
4. Authenticity, Descriptions, and Errors
We describe every item based on our knowledge, research, and observation. However:
- We cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy of provenance, maker, year of production, or material composition.
- Buyers are encouraged to ask for additional information or photos before purchasing.
- Rare Antiques shall not be held responsible for any inaccuracies or omissions in product listings.
5. In-Person Purchases
For customers who visit us in Windsor, Ontario, all in-person purchases are final at the time of sale. Please examine items carefully before completing your purchase, as no returns, refunds, or exchanges can be accommodated afterwards.
